Welcome to the MGA Canada Dragon Cup (“Tournament”) hosted and organized by Micro-Star Canada Ltd. (“MSI,” “we,” or “us”). This Tournament is governed by MSI’s Services Terms of Use, available at https://ca.msi.com/page/website-terms-of-use .

Additional Tournament specific details are enumerated below and shall govern your participation in the Tournament. These Tournament terms and conditions shall be read in conjunction with the MSI Services Terms of Use (collectively, the “Terms”) – Please read these Terms carefully. If the Tournament terms conflict with MSI’s Services Terms of Use, the Tournament terms shall govern but only to the extent such conflict applies towards the Tournament. BY ACCESSING OR PARTICIPATING IN THE TOURNAMENT, YOU AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THESE TERMS. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO THESE TERMS, OR ARE INELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE, PLEASE DO NOT ACCESS OR PARTICIPATE IN THE TOURNAMENT.

1. Changes and Additions to Terms & Conditions

• These Terms may be modified and updated in whole or by part, at any time at MSI’s sole discretion. Members may be informed by written notice. All modifications and updates shall become effective upon posting by MSI. A member’s continued access, use, or participation in the Tournament constitutes express agreement to such modifications or updates. Therefore, we encourage members to regularly check this website for updates and review these Terms. If a member objects to the modifications or updates, he/she shall immediately stop any access, use, or participation in the Tournament.

2. Eligibility

• 1. The Tournament is an esport competition played on League of Legends developed by Riot Games.
  2. The Tournament is not affiliated with or sponsored by Riot Games, Inc. or League of Legends Esports.
  3. In order to participate in the Tournament, you must meet the following requirements:
     1. Live in Canada. Proof of residence can be asked by MSI.
     2. Own and register with a League of Legend ID.
     3. Be available on Saturday, July 10th, 2021 and Saturday, July 17th, 2021 at 2PM EST / 11AM PDT to play Online.
     4. Join the MGA Canada Dragon Cup Discord server with a personal account.
     5. Be at least 13 years old to be eligible to sign up for the Tournament.
• 1. Players under 18 years old must provide a tournament parental consent form signed to participate. Players under 19 years old living in British Columbia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Northwest Territories, Nova Scotia, Nunavut, and Yukon Territory must provide a tournament parental consent form signed to participate. The parental consent form can be found in the MGA Canada Dragon Cup Discord (https://discord.gg/GmRRMxm).

3. How to enter

• To enter you need to fill the registration form available on our event website,MGA Dragon Cup 2021with the complete information of your team members. All Entries are subject to verification at any time and for any reason.

4. Prizes

• MSI reserve the right to change the tournament prize and Viewers/Fans giveaway prizes at any time without notice.

5. Claiming prizes

• MSI will make all reasonable efforts to contact the winner. If the winner cannot be contacted or is not available within 15 business days of the tournament final, MSI reserves the right to offer the prize to the next eligible participant. In order to claim the prize, you will be asked to provide your full name, email address, shipping address and phone number. MSI does not accept any responsibility if you are not able to take up the prize. Prizes do not come with any express or implied warranty of any kind.
• Please note, our Tournament prize pool is composed of 5 items of each prize. Substitutes are allowed to help out teams to make sure they have 5 players available on tournament day. However, only 5 of those players who fought through victory will receive those 5 prizes. This condition does not apply to draw or giveaway prizes.

6. Data protection

• At registration, players can choose to sign up for the MSI Canada newsletter. Emails will be added to the MSI mailing list only if players agree to opt-into emailing list at registration.
• MSI’s Privacy Policy applies to use, participation, and provision the Tournament, and its terms are made a part of these Terms by incorporation by reference with full force and effect. Additionally, by participating in the Tournament, you acknowledge and agree that Internet transmissions are never completely private or secure. You understand that any message or information you send to the Tournament may be read or intercepted by others, even if there is a special notice that a particular transmission (for example, credit card information) is encrypted. Because of the international nature of MSI’s business, we transfer information within the MSI group, and to third party suppliers who help us provide the Tournament and related services to you for the purpose set forth in this Terms. Therefore, we may transfer information to countries that may have different laws and data protection compliance requirements than those applicable in the country you are located. Further details of how your information may be collected, used, and processed are detailed in MSI’s privacy policy, available at https://ca.msi.com/page/privacy-policy.

7. Third Party Sites & Promotion

• The Tournament may link to other websites, services and/or applications on the Internet. These other services are not under MSI's control, and you acknowledge and agree that MSI is not responsible for the accuracy, legality, appropriateness or any other aspect of the content or function of such services. The inclusion of any such link does not imply endorsement of the website by MSI or any association with its operators. Additional or different terms and conditions and privacy/data use policies/statements may apply when you access and use such other websites.

8. Miscellaneous

• Failure by MSI to enforce any right under this Terms shall not be deemed to be a waiver. MSI shall not be liable for any failure to perform due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control. This Terms shall not be assigned or otherwise transferred by you to any other third party; all unauthorized assignments are null and void. This Terms constitutes the entire agreement between the parties with respect to the Tournament, and supersede any prior agreements, communications, representations, or discussions, oral or otherwise.

9. Limitation of Liability

• MSI PRIZE(S) IS/ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT ANY EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, INCLUDING WIHTOUT LIMITATION WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, NONINFRINGEMENT, OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. TO THE GREATEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAWS, MSI SHALL NOT BE LIABLE TO YOU ON ACCOUNT OF ANY CLAIM (REGARDLESS OF THEORY OF LIABILITY WHETHER BASED UPON PRINCIPLES OF CONTRACT, WARRANTY, NEGLIGENCE OR OTHER TORT, BREACH OF ANY STATUTORY DUTY, OR OTHERWISE) FOR ANY SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, RELIANCE, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, PUNITIVE OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, WHETHER FORESEEABLE OR NOT, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, GOODWILL OR COST OF REPLACEMENT.

1. Introduction

1.1 Definition

• 1. MGA Canada Dragon Cup is an esport tournament played on League of Legends, edited by Riot Games. The organization of the MGA Canada Dragon Cup is managed by Cyber Entertainment Agency (CEA).
  2. This competition is not affiliated with or sponsored by Riot Games.

1.2 Regulation Board

• 1. The present Rules have been decided and written by the Tournament Director.

1.3 Application

• 1. These Rules of the MGA Canada Dragon Cup apply to each of the teams registered for the event.

1.4 Rules update

• 1. The Tournament Director, along with the event producer, reserves the right to modify the present rules at any time without notice. It is encouraged to review these regulations from time to time in order to be apprised of any changes.

1.5 Tournament format

• 1. The tournament format will be announced after the registration closed. All registered players will receive an email with specific format and important information on how the tournament will be executed. Info will also be published in the MGA Canada Drago Cup Discord.

1.6 Player Eligibility

• 1. In order to participate in the tournament, you must meet the following requirements:
     1. Live in Canada. Proof of residence can be asked by MSI.
     2. Join the MGA Canada Dragon Cup discord server with a personal account.
     3. Be available on Saturday, July 10th, 2021 and Saturday, July 17th, 2021 starting at 2PM EST/ 11AM PDT to play online.
     4. Own and register with a League of Legend ID.
     5. Be at least 13+ years old to be able to sign up for the tournament.

1.7 Seeding

• 1. Seeding is generated randomly.

2. Tournament

2.1. League of Legend game settings

2.1.1. Game version

• 1. The Tournament will use the latest available version of League of legends in the Americas region.

2.1.2 Nickname Summoner ID

• 1. Players must use Summoner account they have registered with.
  2. Players are not allowed to change their Summoner account for the duration of the tournament.

2.1.3. Match Settings

• 1. 5 vs 5 Tournament Draft
  2. Map: Summoners Rift

2.1.4 Hosting and team colors

• 1. The team in the upper side of the bracket (or left side of the match page) will play blue side. The team in the lower side of the bracket (or right side of the match page) will play red side.
  2. All matches will be played using the tournament code that Toornament provides. Then copy the code and paste it into the League of Legends game client by clicking play, then selecting custom game, then selecting the trophy icon.

2.2 Before matches

2.2.1. Match Making

• 1. We require that you be online at least 10 minutes prior to your match. If you are not online at that time, we will forfeit your team and will be disqualified from the Sign-Up Raffle Draw Giveaway.

2.2.2 Match Roster

• 1. All players must be registered on the MGA Canada Dragon Cup form to be allowed to play; all roster changes must be made prior to the start of the tournament. Playing with different players and/or illegal ringers will result in punishment. For any roster change, please email admin@cea-acd.com.

2.2.3 Player substitution

• 1. Players can be changed between matches. However, only the participated players who played through the tournament are qualified to enter for the Sign-Up Raffle Draw giveaway.
  2. Team who wins top 3, only the 5 players who played and fight to the end of victory will be awarded with the grand prizes. Any substitues or roster changes in between the game will not be awarded for the grand prizes.

2.2.4 Match start time

• 1. The match start time indicates the time when the match begins. Therefore, teams are advised to be present in the game lobby 10 minutes before the match start time. If a team is missing players after the start time, tournament admin may force the start of the match shorthanded or rule a forfeit loss.
  2. Start times for the streamed games will allow for a 10 minutes buffer after the expected start time in order to properly coordinate with the stream production staff. This must not be considered as warm-up. Warm-up should be done BEFORE the start time. CEA reserves the right to change schedule at any time to accommodate the stream production.
  3. Teams are invited to be up to date with the tournament schedule on the bracket.

2.2.5 Match host

• 1. All matches will have their own created lobby by the team captain featured on the top of the match’s bracket. The team captain hosting must invite the rival team captain and then both of them should invite all their players. Game setting must be set as rules mention and the arena must be DFH Stadium. The game should be launched on time but only after both team captains have mentioned their team is ready.
  2. IPlayers may not join their designated side until three Players from each Team have joined the Game. If a match is scheduled to be featured on the stream, both team captain will be contacted by a tournament admin and they will be invited in their match lobby.

2.3. During matches

• Tactical pauses
  1. In-game tactical pause are not allowed. Teams can only discuss strategies before and after a match. Tactical pause allowed in case of a player substitution should be taken in the game lobby.
• Technical pauses
  1. Ten minutes of pause time.
  2. The opponent must be informed of these technical issues and the reason for the pause.

2.4 After the matches

2.4.1 Match report

• 1. The team captain from the winning team is responsible to contact an admin after the game ended and report their win. All team captains must take a screen shot of the game result and could be asked to provide the image to confirm the outcome. Match report screen shot must be taken on the match report screen. Failure to provide the screen shot could result in a forfeit lost. List of admins and contact information will be provided before the tournament.

2.4.2 Investigation request

• 1. When a team estimates being a victim of rules violations during a match, players are compelled not to stop the current game by any means and to properly finish the match. Once the match is over, the team may officially request an investigation to tournament admins. It is strongly advised to provide valuable information that may help the Tournament Director in his investigation. Unjustified and repetitive use of this right may be sanctioned.

3. Forbidden behaviours

• 1. Players, Coaches and Managers will be sanctioned if they are found attempting to violate in any way the present forbidden behaviours:
     1. Refuse to follow Referee instructions
     2. Arrive late at their convocation schedule
     3. Show dissent by word or action
     4. Use insulting language and/or gestures
     5. Use insulting language in-game
     6. Display unsportsmanlike behaviour
     7. Mislead on their identity (fake nick or identity usurpation)
     8. Mislead or dupe any Referee
     9. Don’t put any effort to win match
     10. Try to manipulate a match’s result

3.2 Prohibited software

• 1. It is strictly prohibited for a player to use any software modifying the game functionalities, principles or graphical render.
  2. During the tournament, the organizer and referees could carry out random PC and player material checks for prohibited software. If the presence or use of prohibited software is detected, the concerned player will be banished of any current and future MGA Canada Dragon Cup tournaments.

4. Sanctions Policy

4.1 List of sanctions

• 1. After discovery of any Player, Coach or Manager committing any violations of the present rules, the Regulations Committee may apply the following sanctions:
     1. Written warning from the admin/referee
     2. Game loss
     3. Match loss
     4. Disqualification
  2. Depending on the degree, repetition and the final analysis, Regulations Committee may apply additional sanctions such as banishment of future MGA Canada Dragon Cup events, removal of all cash prizes and awards, or legal proceedings.

5. Streaming & Casting

• 1. Streaming an MGA Canada Dragon Cup match is only permitted with an admin agreement. To get an agreement, please write to admin@cea-acd.com.
  2. Only Twitch platform will be authorized. Facebook live or any other streaming platforms are prohibited. All personal streams must host the official MGA Canada Dragon Cup ( https://www.twitch.tv/msigaming) stream when they close their broadcast or if the official stream features their game.

6. Code

• 1. All the players must respect The Summoner’s Code and the League of Legends terms of use, any behavior against this rule will be penalized.
